Kaaltarang, prominantly influencing the people in this area by bringing about a number of changes with the passage of time ,was started by the founding father of ‘Kaaltarang’ the editor late Dayanand Mukane on the auspicious occasion of the Republic Day of 1981.
The first publication ceremony of ‘Kaaltarang’ was held at the hands of the most Senior journalist Shri. Chandrakant Purandare in jawhar city. Getting respectable place in each and every home, Kaaltarang rippled in the social and cultural development of Jawhar.
In the world of competition the ‘Kaaltarang’ had to compete with the commercial newspapers but with the principles of ‘Kaaltarang’ such as transparency, perseverance, truth, suppression of injustice, authorized news, articles by famous writers and most importantly accountability of it is still popular and has the pride and honor. ‘Kaaltarang’ is a newspaper, Jawhar Darshan and calendar. Special Diwali number of ‘Kaaltarang’ received many awards and got a tremendous response from people.
People have given the office of ‘Kaaltarang’ name the”Literature Corner”. Most of the time, bad economic condition had to be faced. But because of obsession of the news service, the editor, Dayanand Mukne, had to sell even the commodities in the home with a view to running this news ceaselessly. At this juncture, people have come forward to hold a torch of Kaaltarang regarding as “Tamso ma Jyotirgamaya” (lead me from darkness to light). They have kept it at the holy place of God in their homes keeping its blaze.
Therefore, ‘Kaaltarang’ is not only a newspaper but also ‘Lokpatra’ (news of people). We are very proud of it. ‘Kaaltarang’ received ‘Darpan Award’ Marathi news writeres Union Mumbai Award’ and Thane District newspaper Union Award’ etc. It has important place among the people. We happened to have a golden opportunity to communicate with Hon’ble Shankar Dayal Sharma. The former vice-president of India, the Primeminister of India, The Primeminister of India, Hon’ble Chandra shekar, the governor, K. Narayanan, the Governor of Bihar, Ram Naik,Shivsena Chief Balasaheb Thakare, Chief Minister Vilasraoji Deshmukh, Chief Minister, Sushilkumar Shinde, Chief Minister, Pruthviraj chavan, Chief Minister Ashok Chawhan, Chief Minister, Narayan Rane and Raj Thakare etc.

As the Guru (Teacher) should be at the centre for the successful monarchy of the state. We have been successful in running this Kaaltarang with blessings of Shri. Samartha krupa.
Kaaltarang had been born as a big supporting platform for tribal and general people living in tribal area like Jawhar to fight at government darbar for injustice facing people and their entitled. It is very difficult to run newspaper in tribal area many problems occurred but due to social fervency and sense we have been running the KAALTARANG newspaper successfully since 1981 to till date.
The social activities done by the kaaltarang news paper could not be ignored by government. Maharashtra state government honored to kaaltarang founder editor Late shri. Dayanand A Mukane (ANNA) many awards.These awards morally boosting to our kaaltarang parivar and more responsible to social activities.

We are coming before you through ‘Kaaltarang’ on website which started from typewriter printing, offset printing and now colorful printing. ‘Kaaltarang’ has significant place in the policy of government by promoting people for decision making.
